Hi everyone .There is a question for you .
1. why is the density of ice is less than water ??
ans;- due to the cage like structure of ice , molecules are not closely packed and vacant spaces are left . as ice melts, these molecules come closer and hence the density increases. as ice being less denser ,it floats over the surface of water .
2. Why density of water is max at 4 * C ??
ans;- as the ice melts , molecules comes together and hence density increases upto 4*C .After that the kinetic energy of the molecules increases so they start moving away from each other and again density starts decreasing .
